  • I moved to the area 4 years ago and immediately fell in love with the people at this church. It is very warm, friendly and accepting of everyone. I have since joined as a member.

I attended the Sat. night concert Barry mentions in his deceitful review, and I can truthfully say that he is WAY off base. There was no political activity at all!! The only thing I can think Barry could have construed as political was that Larry Gatlin sang a song from his new recording that was pro-gun. I assume Barry was offended by that. If so, I'm sorry Barry was offended, but It is Larry's right and him singing about it does not violate the 501c3 code.

If you are looking for a Bible believing church with friendly people, please give us a try.

    Saturday night, 01/23/16
    Day One:
We went to Larry Gatlin's Concert at this Church tonight.....What a red-neck right wing pseudo christian (all small caps on purpose) ending to what could have been a great evening. Scaring old people, "they are here to get you NOW" (speaking of 'the enemy') How much did the NRA pay the church and through the NRA did the church pay Larry to spew this hateful Un-Christlike venom from his mouth...Can you engine for one second Jesus doing what he did tonight......Larry kept saying the devil was behind him all day, no Larry he was Front and Center of you tonight! and you followed him foot to foot, not unlike your testimony says you have done before...!!! I lost a legend, or what I thought was a legend tonight, its very sad and I pray the Gathers hear of this as well, I will do my very best!

    Sunday Day 2:
The illegal issues:......Tax Exempt Churches CAN NOT and WILL NOT use the church for political persuasion in an attempt to advance their own political views, THAN it becomes a business. As Larry (and the Church allowing him to), ranted on with his proselytizing last night, it may as well have been FOX news, which ironically Larry has close ties to. This is cause for the removal of the church tax exempt status and I hope and pray through my posts, letters and friends in the "Know" this is done. The is NOT what the house of the Lord is for and to repeat myself, I don't think there is a better example of WWJD than the travesty that went on in this church last night and Larry Gatlin himself. Absolutely Shameful......I seriously recommend no one visit this building if visiting or church hunting, but find a kind loving Christ-Centered Church to attend where your mind and heart should will be filled with the love of God, His Son and the Holy Spirit....Further, I would like my 70.00 refunded......Just on Principal.....Here is word for word the legal rules on the aforementioned....Non-Profit Churches are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Larry Gatlin broke these rules last night as did the church by allowing it to go on......

THIS IS VERBATUM FROM THE INTERNAL REVENUE SERVICE GOVERNMENT SITE:

"The Restriction of Political Campaign Intervention by Section 501(c)(3) Tax-Exempt Organizations
Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the such as voter registration and get-out-the-vote drives, would not be prohibited political campaign activity if conducted in a non-partisan manner.
On the other hand, voter education or registration activities with evidence of bias that (a) would favor one candidate over another; (b) oppose a candidate in some manner; or (c) have the effect of favoring a candidate or group of candidates, will constitute prohibited participation or intervention."

    Monday, Day Three:
Last night, CNN had a two hour special on people who have influenced their lives the most, the people were chosen from staff on CNN. One of their Reporters Named Don Lemon chose Bishop T.D. Jakes - "Free Your Mind" as the most influential person in his like...Don is also a black guy as well as T.D. Positive thinking was the key to this bond and as a results Mr Lemons success. Larry made mention of T D in his concert Saturday night, I dare say Jakes would have been ashamed at the NEGATIVITY that oozed from Larry's pours. Such a disgrace!!
